Yellapur: As many as five persons were injured in a road accident that reported between a car and the diesel tanker near Idagundi NH-63 in the taluk on 14th November, Tuesday.

The incident occurred when the car was heading to Ankola from Yellapur, while the truck was in the opposite direction. Both vehicles had a head-on collision, as a result, five persons traveling in the car were hurt. 

The injured were identified as Shekarappa Meti, Sushilavva Meti, Gaurawa Hosamani, Chinnava Tarlagatti and Sanjeev Tarlagatti. All are said to be the residents of Kundgol taluk in Dharwad district. They were immediately shifted to Hubli hospital after giving initial treatments at Yellapur govt hospital. The impact of the collision was such that the front portion of the car was reportedly had lost its shape.

A case has been registered in Yellapur police station.
