Bhatkal: "We will promise to provide people-friendly governance catering to the needs of all sections of society if voted to power", stated Janata Dal (Secular) State president H.D. Kumaraswamy in Bhatkal.

He was speaking in a 'Vikasa Parwa' JD(S) convention held here at Anjuman ground on Saturday, 17th March.

Addressing the convention, Kumaraswamy assured the public that he would waive farm loans if his party is elected to power. "I know taking the decision to waive a huge amount is not a small task. But my father has taught me how to bear the burden on the State’s exchequer", he said.

Speaking further, Kumaraswamy slammed both BJP and the ruling Congress party for trying to communally polarise the voters in the Coastal region, ahead of the upcoming Assembly election in the state.

Kumaraswamy said the BJP had invited Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to campaign in Karnataka as it did not have a capable leader in the state who had the courage to face the people. "Yogi Adityanath had recently visited BJP's Jana Suraksha Yatra. The name of the yatra itself is not suited for the BJP's programme as they are bringing a person, who is not even able to protect infants in his own state," he said, hinting at the deaths of children in Uttar Pradesh hospitals.

"Union Minister for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Anant Kumar Hegde, who is an MP of Uttar-Kannada district, instead of solving the problems of land encroachment in the region, is busily involved in diverting the people's mind with his controversial statements to divide the people on the Communal basis, he noted. He further promised saying that if JDS is brought to power, the land encroachment issue in Bhatkal will be solved.

Before concluding his speech he said that on an earlier occasion he had become Chief Minister for 20 months by default. This time, he wanted to get the post as the people’s choice. “As you know, I have already become Chief Minister of Karnataka. However, at that time I attained the post because of various political developments. Therefore, the options to exercise power too were restricted. This time, give me a chance to serve you on my own by voting the JD(S) to power. It would also help me to turn all my ideas of good governance into reality,” he said.

'Acche din will come for JD(S)' - Bhatkal JDS hopeful Inayatullah Shabandari:

The JDS hopeful from Bhatkal-Honnavar constituency Inayatullah Shabandari in his address said that no political party other than JDS will be coming to power after the elections. "Acche din is coming to JDS, not for BJP", he said. Shahbandri asked the people of the constituency to vote for JDS in the upcoming elections to bring changes in the region as well as in the state. He also promised that the land encroachment problem, which is a major problem faced by the people in the region will be solved as soon as the JDS is brought to power.
