Karwar (DHNS): Members of Janashakti Vedike rescued four elderly destitutes, who were suffering from hunger, ill health and roaming around the City. They were provided primary treatment at the District Hospital on Tuesday.

The rescued destitutes have been identified as Jaiwanth, Hari Anand, Raj and Shankrappa.

They are residents of Kodibag, Yellapur, Kerala and Bihar.

Janashakti Vedike President Madhav Naik said all the four used to roam around the City streets.

They were rescued and provided clothes, footwear and food.

They will be housed in Mallikarjun Old Age Home, in Belagavi.
