Tumakuru: Four people were killed when two cars collided head-on near Godekere Gate in Chikkanayakanahalli taluk of Karnataka’s Tumakuru district on Friday night. The accident occurred at around 8 pm, leaving three others injured.

According to police, one of the cars was travelling from K.B. Cross towards Chikkanayakanahalli with local residents Anil, 31, and Vivek, 32, among those travelling in it. Both died in the accident, while Nishani Anil, 31, who was also in the car, suffered serious injuries and was shifted to Tumakuru for further treatment.

The other car was reportedly returning towards Turuvekere after visiting the Tataiyyana Dargah in Chikkanayakanahalli. A three-year-old girl, Ana Fatima, and the car’s driver, Dawood, 45, were among those travelling in the vehicle. Both died in the collision.

The impact of the head-on crash was severe, killing four people and injuring three others. The injured were rushed to a hospital for treatment.

Police reached the spot after receiving information about the accident and conducted an inspection. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the crash.
