Gokarna: The lifeguards and residents of Gokarna rescued four tourists from drowning at Main Beach in the town on Friday. 

The tourists are Tanuj (20), Amrut (20), Manjunath (22), and Niranjan (21), all residents of Arsikere in Hassan district.

A total of five people had come to Gokarna on a tour. The incident took place when all of them ventured into the beach for swimming. Noticing them drowning in the beach, residents Ganapati Ambiga, Vittal Ambiga, Harischandra Ambiga, Boating Gokarna Holiday Makers staff, lifeguards Shivaprasad Ambiga, Sandeep Kurle, and Pravasi Mitra Ganpati Gavadi rescued them and gave first aid.
