Udupi: Deputy Commissioner Kurma Rao said that a normal human being transformed into great Valmiki because of sheer perseverance and persistence to achieve success.

He was speaking at Valmiki Jayanti programme held on Wednesday. He said, “The Ramayana, written by Maharishi Valmiki, is a great work that can be translated into many languages. Its principles have stood the test of time.”

He added that through serials and films, this mythological narrative was touching everyone’s heart. 

Rao said that the district administration was launching a programme to provide free IAS and KAS competitive exam training to students in Udupi district.

Students from backward communities should avail this benefit, he urged.
