Kumta: In a tragic road accident that reported in between Gas Tanker and the bike, the bike rider after sustaining severe injuries breathed his last while on the way to Manipal hospital. The incident occurred on the morning of 18th October, Wednesday on Mirzan NH-66 on the outskirts of Kumta.

The deceased victim bike rider was identified as Diwakar Gauda, a resident of Belambar village in Ankola taluk.

Sources said that the bike rider who sustained severe injuries was initially brought to Kumta govt hospital for first aid treatment. He was then taken to Manipal hospital to provide advanced treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and breathed his last on the way.

A case stands registered in Kumta police station.
