Karwar: The Coastal security police have seized the illegal liquor on Monday evening near Baithkol region in the taluk.

According to sources, the liquor was seized during a raid conducted by the team led by inspector SM Rane near Baithkol. They held the car in which the Goa-based liquor was illegally trafficked. However, the accused car driver managed to flee leaving the car behind. 

The police have seized the liquor as well as a car. The estimated value of the seized property is 1.40 lacs rupees.

A case has been registered in Karwar police station and search is on for the absconding accused.
