Mangaluru: Miscreants stole cash and gold ornaments from a residence in Belthangady's Kadirudyavara on Tuesday.

Mustafa filed a complaint stating that he remained in Chikkamagaluru to conduct repairs on his vehicle on February 5. His mother, who had been staying with relatives, returned the next morning only to discover the house had been burgled.

The burglars gained entry by removing roof tiles and made off with gold ornaments valued at Rs 1.71 lakh and cash amounting to Rs 1.20 lakh.

A case has been registered under Section 457, 380 of the IPC at the Belthangady police station, and an ongoing investigation is underway.
