Karwar: RV Deshpande emerged victorious once again in Haliyal assembly elections, the results of which declared, on Tuesday BJP’s Sunil hedge lost out to Deshpande.

 It seems that various development works taken u by the seasoned veteran in his constituency had led to his facile victory.

Deshpande is credited with implementation of the project to supply Kali river water to various tanks at a cost of Rs 222 crore besides several other developmental works such as 24/7 drinking water project for Haliyal town, road development works and renovation of temples.

Further, desiltation works of 90 tanks were taken up under the corporate social responsibility scheme in the constituency. Priority was given to education and wealth. These factors ted to Deshpande’s victory.
