Bhatkal: Under the supervision of the department of irrigation, port and underground drainage system, the works for the new road at Haneefabad has been started with the cleaning works. The estimated value of the project is 75 lacs rupees. The initial works for cleaning of the roads have been already started on 7th November, Monday.

The cleaning work began with the supplications from Maulana Abdullah Ruknaddin. On this occasion Heble panchayat member Syed Ali Maliki, members of Haneefabad welfare association Nisar Ahmed Ruknaddin, SM Syed Abdul Khadir, Shabbir Kandan Gauda, Abdussalam Kola, Amanullah Kola, Abdul Ghafoor, Faisal Abdul Khadir Kola and others were present.

It might be noted that the residents of Haneefabad had a long demand of constructing the road from their locality till NH-66. This demand was repeatedly appealed to concerned departments and public representatives, after which, the local MLA approved the construction of the road from his funds. It was said that the MLA Mankal Vaidya within next couple of days will be inaugurating the road construction works.

The contract for the road construction work has been given to the Ocean construction India private limited company.
