Byndoor: A 21-year-old woman was killed when the compound wall of Jattigeshwara Daivasthana (temple), which had become weak due to rain, collapsed on her at Ulloor village in Byndoor taluk of Udupi district on Friday.

Meanwhile, over eight houses were damaged due to rain accompanied by gusty winds in different parts of the district.

According to Byndoor police, Dhanyashree (21) had gone to offer her prayers at the Jattigeshwara Daivasthana at around 8 a.m., when the compound wall of the daivasthana suddenly collapsed on her killing her. The wall had become weak due to heavy rain.

A case of unnatural death has been registered at the Byndoor police station.
