Karwar : Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Anantkumar Hegde escaped unhurt in a minor accident at Katagal near Kumta in the district on Monday.

Nobody was injured in the accident. However, the bonnet of his car was damaged.

As a vehicle suddenly came in front of Hegde’s pilot car, the driver of the car applied brakes. Hegde’s car, which was following the pilot car, hit it from behind. The police arranged another car and facilitated his onward travel.

Hegde had suspected foul play in the accident. Investigation revealed that the accident was unintentional.
