High school students identify 31 bird species at workshop

Karwar (DHNS): As many as 31 species were identified during a workshop on bird watching, jointly conducted by Kaiga Birders and Adarsha Vidyalaya Eco Club for high school students of Adarsha Vidyalaya, in Mallapur, in the taluk.

Students watched birds surrounding river Kali at Mallapur. Experts from Kaiga Birders Club detailed about identification of birds species, morphological characters, food habits, flying, family system and other aspects related to avians. As many as 30 students participated.

Eco Club President Shweta Barsekar, members Harshita, Manjushree, Deepa, Mohammed and others shared their opinion on the occasion. Meanwhile, Kaiga Birders Club provided bird charts to ECO Club.

Kaiga Birders organiser G Mohandas, members K V Rajiv, P Vijayan, Adarsha Vidyalay’s S A Mirashi, J P Nagekar Chaya Naik and others conducted the workshop.
