Karwar: Ravindranath Tagore beach, in Karwar, is known for its calm nature. However, since last couple of days, the tourist spot is witnessing high tides.
The tides are lashing the seashore ferociously. Hence, tourists are avoiding from visiting the beach. The wind is blowing at about 30 km speed per hour from North-West direction of the sea.
Warning to fishermen
Fisheries Department’s Deputy Director Santosh Koppad has instructed the fishermen not to venture into sea for fishing for the next four days.
Cloudy weather prevailed in the coastal region in the district since two days. Number of tourists visiting the Ravindranath Tagore beach has come down. Sports activities on the beach have also been suspended temporarily due to high tides.
