Bhatkal: Local NGO Majlise Islah wo Tanzeem put forth a strong demand to the police and asked the authorities to nab all the accused and take proper action against them. A delegation led by Tanzeem's General Secretary Mr. Mohiuddin Altaf Kharuri met the In-charge Bhatkal DySp G.T Nayak over the recent incident in Honnavar where a mob of alleged 'Gau Rakshaks' brutally attacked two youth as they had cattle in their vehicle. The deligation has demanded to put an end to the growing incidents of mob voilence that have shocked the conscience of Bhatkal's peace loving citizens

Tanzeem Vice president and JDS leader Inayatullah Shabandari too expressed concern over the communal atmosphere in the district ahead of assembly election. He said that only arresting few accused to show progress will not be acceptable. "We have noted that after the incident, few people are caught but as soon as some days pass, the main culprits go free and the case shows no progress. Giving examples of an earlier incident in Honnavar where a driver was assaulted and had gone missing for four days, Mr. Inayatullah Shabandri said that police recovered him, but still no arrest has been made as to who assaulted him.

Mr. Imtiyaz Udyawar, president of Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation said that police is appearing light-handed in such matters due to which the criminals are getting bold and carrying out more attacks.

The deligation has warned the authorities that if such cases are not taken seriously, there will be no option but to come out on streets for justice.

DySp G.T. Nayak stated that a case has been filed against the attackers under section 307. He assured that all the accused will be arrested soon.

President of Bhatkal town muncipal council Muhammed Sadique Matta, Tanzeem executives Siddique DF, Azeezur Rahman Nadvi, Maulavi Yassir Barmawar amongst many others were also present in the Tanzeem delegation.
