Honnavar: The Rotary Club of Honnavar is looking forward to organise 'Vishnu Baleri Memorial State-level Rapid Chess tournament' in the CBSE School in the premises of SDM College in Honnavar on September 8 and 9.

"The championship will be held in two categories i.e open championship and Under-16. The first three winners of the open championship will get trophies and purse of Rs 15,000, Rs 12,000 and Rs 9,000 respectively. Cash prizes will be given to winners from fourth place to 20th position also", informed Rotary Club President Ranganath Pujari.

In the Under-16 category, the winners will get trophies and cash prize of Rs 4,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000. Special prizes will be given to Under-9 category, best women contestant and emerging players.
