Karwar: Forest officials raided a house in Kavadikere village in Yellapur taluk and seized illegal teak wood worth ₹60,000 stored there. The raid was carried on Wednesday afternoon.

According to sources,  acting on a tip off, the officials raided the house of Narayan Naik. 41 pcs of teak wood were seized by the officials but the accused escaped and he is said to be absconding.

The raid party consisted of Yateesh Kumar, SP Marigolappanavar, regional officer Subramanya, sub-regional officer CS Naik, LA Matha Shrinivas Naik, Nagaraj Kalgutkar and others.
