Karwar: Dr B R Ambedkar was a great humanitarian and a role model for all communities, stated Deputy Commissioner S S Nakul.

He noted this while speaking after offering floral tributes to portrait of Dr B R Ambedkar at Ambedkar jayanti programme held at his office in Karwar on Saturday.

Indian Constitution which was framed by Dr Ambedkar ensured equality and social justice for all. This Constitution is a sacred book to the people of the country, he said.

All ideologies preached by Dr Ambedkar should be practiced for a upholding interests of all communities, he said.

ZP CEO L Chandrashekar Nayak said, Ambedkar’s life was full of struggles and hurdles. However, Ambedkar took all these hurdles as a challenge and sailed across to ensure equality. he also worked hard for women and labour rights.

His life should motivate people to work for the progress of all communities, he said.

It is unfortunate to confine Dr Ambedkar to a particular caste or community. He is a national leader to people of all castes and his preachings should be practiced in life.

SP Vinayak Patil said, Ambedkar worked to curb social imbalance.
