Karwar: The message and lessons taught by Swami Vivekananda can act as beacon of knowledge for years in perpetuity. His teachings are immortal, Government Arts & Science College Senior Sanskrit Professor Venkatesh Giri observed.
Delivering a lecture during Youth Week programme, he said, Vivekananda's mission was to build a healthy nation and tour around the globe.
He wanted to grasp the good qualities of foreign lands to teach and guide the youths of India to build a healthy nation. It is the prime duty of youths to make Swami Vivekananda's dream come true, he added.
If people of country understand and follow in the footsteps of Swami Vivekananda, India will emerge as global leader, he opined.
MLA Satish Sail, in his address, called upon people to inculcate the ideologies of Swami Vivekananda and lead a model life. The teachings of Swami Vivekananda inspire all young minds towards nation building. Hence, one should tread on the path of Swami Vivekananda's ideals, he added.
Senior Civil Judge T Govindayya exhorted students to strive hard to achieve success in the current competitive era. One should achieve success in life only after performing one's duties honestly, he said.
It is a matter of great concern that, today, the number of youths committing suicide is increasing rapidly. To emerge out of stress and tension, young minds should involve themselves in extra-curricular works, which provides relaxation and helps one to combat stress, he said, adding suicide is not a solution to all problems.
