Indian Coast Guard conducts cleanliness drive under 'Swachh Bharat campaign'

New Delhi: The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) conducted a massive cleanliness drive in the national capital under the central government's 'Swachh Bharat campaign', an official statement said on Monday. 

The ICG launched a masisve cleanliness drive on Sunday in line with the government's 'Swachh Bharat campaign'.

"Indian Coast Guard (ICG) launched a massive cleanliness drive on October 1 in line with Govt of India’s cleanliness mission. Under the motto of 'Ek Tarikh – Ek Ghanta – Ek Sath,' the Indian Coast Guard carried out the coast-to-coast mission under ICG Director General Rakesh Pal. The mission aims at creating awareness about the importance of cleanliness", said the Indian Coast Guard in the official statement. 

Earlier today, the ICG conducted a cleanliness drive at Juhu beach in Maharsahtra's Mumbai.

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi called upon people across the country to take part in a cleanliness drive on October 1 (on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti), leaders from across the country took part in the 'Shramdaan for Cleanliness' program as part of the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign.

From Union Home Minister Amit Shah to BJP chief JP Nadda including several Union Ministers and MPs were seen taking part in the cleanliness drive program under the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign across the nation.

PM Modi has said Swachh Bharat is the collective responsibility of all citizens of the country and that public participation is very important in this direction.
