Mangaluru: Chain snatcher nabbed by Ullal police, gold and valuables recovered

Mangaluru: An interstate chain snatcher has been apprehended  byUllal police on 2nd February, Friday.

The arrested accused has been identified as Abdul Haris (29yrs), a native of Anangur in Kasargod.

According to sources, a man from Bantwal had visited Someshwar beach on 12th January, Friday and Abdul had allegedly snatched away his 20gram gold chain and fled from the spot.

A case was registered at Ullal police station by Dony (27yrs), whose chain was snatched. Investigations were conducted and the police were successful in arresting the accused and recovering the gold chain from his possession on Friday.

Haris was produced before the court and has been remanded to judicial custody for 15 days.

The arrest operation was carried out by police inspector Gopikrishna, Sub Inspector Gurappa Kanthi, ASI Vijayraj, Jayaprakash, Basavaraj, Prashanth, Chidanand, Suresh and Vasudev of Ullal police station under the able guidance of ACP Ram Rao.
