Karwar: Income Tax department officials conducted a raid on the house of Mangaldas Kamat, close associate of MLA and Congress Candidate Satish Sail, here, on Friday.

Sources said officials gathered documents and other details from Kamat’s Avasarad village, in Ankola taluk.

The team consisted of officials from Bengaluru and Hubballi. They checked for documents for more than two hours.

It can be recalled here that, Kamat had hosted All India Congress Committee President Rahul Gandhi for lunch at his hotel during Rahul’s recent visit to Ankola.
