Karkala: In a shocking incident , a young woman who was married just a year ago was brutally attacked by her husband leaving her with severed limbs. The victim Anushree (23) is presently battling for life at the ICU of a private hospital in Manipal.
She was attacked by her husband Santosh Poojary (27), a resident of Patrabettu.
According to sources, Santosh and Anushree had met at Bengaluru and Santosh had forced her to marry him after threatening her family with a sword. Their marriage was registered in the office of the sub-registrar here on 6th January, 2017. but since differences arose he attacked her with a sword and attempted to kill her.
According to sources, Santosh allegedly swung his sword at her due to which her hands and leg were severed. He kept yelling that he would rather kill her than agree for divorce. Anushree who faced this murderous attack at the hands of her husband and narrowly escaped being killed and stands admitted into the ICU of a hospital at Manipal where she is fighting for her life.
A case has been registered at Ajekar police station against Santosh based upon a complaint filed by Anushree’s parents Shridar and Suguna Poojary.
