Karwar: The dismissed employees of Kassel Exports Private Limited, demonstrated in front of company’s gate, on Wednesday following dismissal of ten employees, who had been working over a period of 16 years.
The company had dismissed three employees. Termination notices were issued to seven other employees later. Efforts to contact the manger went in vain, dismissed staffer Santosh lamented.
A ten member employees association was formed to urge the company to hike their salaries.
The company had increased monthly wages. However, after increasing the salary, company officials started deducting salary if a worker reported late for work.
The company has not implemented safety measures to facilitate workers who are engaged in transfer of crude oil. Other benefits like PF and ESI have also not been provided.
