Bhatkal: Shri Ramasena Bhatkal unit president Shankar Naik was arrested by Karwar police on Tuesday for allegedly posting objectionable content on Facebook.

It has been learnt that a case regarding a defamatory post by Shankar on social media had been filed at Gokarna police station and acting upon the complaint the police wanted to question him.

According to sources, On the order of District SP Vinayak Patil, a team led by Gokarna PSI Santosh, Ankola PSI Shreedhar and Karwar PSI Naveen Naik arrested the accused on Tuesday.

He was then handed over to the Gokarna police station for further investigation.
