Republic day in Karwar; Act against outfits vitiating peace in Uttara Kannada, Deshpandey to Police

Karwar (DHNS): The activists of few organisations in Honnavar, Kumta, Karwar and Sirsi has affected peace in society and sullied the reputation of the Uttara Kannada district, District In-charge Minister R V Deshpande said.

Speaking after hoisting the National Flag and inspecting the Guard of Honour at the Police Parade Ground here, on Friday, Deshpande said, police have been instructed to act swiftly against such organisations.

Those who trouble innocents should introspect and reflect on their acts. Those who affect peace in the district should be curbed and it was the responsibility of every individual to do so, he noted.

Claiming that the State had been witnessing an era of development, he said, Congress government succeeded in attracting huge sum of capital investments in the State.

He said, despite NDA government’s claim it would generate over two crore employment annually, unemployment remained a major problem in the country. By 2025, India will have maximum number of youths in the world, he added.

In this regard, he said, government has been extending skill enhancement training for around five lakh youths in the State.

Development should be yardstick for electing representatives in ensuing elections, he added.

Children from various schools performed cultural programmes on the occasion.

MLA Satish Sail, Zilla Panchayat President Jayashri Moger, Vice-President Santosh Renuke, Taluk Panchayat President Prameela Naik, CMC President Ganapati Naik and others were present.
