Karwar: Three persons were killed on the spot after the Maruti Swift car in which they were moving in rammed into a roadside electric pole. The accident happened on Majali NH-66 in Karwar taluk on the evening of Friday, June 29.

The deceased are Shambhu (28), Nagendra (33) and Shrinivas (40).

According to the sources, it is believed that the car was on the way to Karwar from Goa state when the accident took place. The car was damaged badly due to the impact.

A case has been registered in Chittakul police station.
