Karwar: The sixth Karwar Taluk Kannada Sahitya Sammelana will be held on February 17.

At the Kannada Sahitya Parishat (KSP) taluk unit meeting held here, on Monday, KSP taluk unit president Nagaraj Harapanahalli asked the Parishat members to give suggestions about organisaing the event to select the president of the Sammelana. He also noted that committees concerned would make the announcement, after considering the suggestions.

Past president Rama Naik suggested to hold the event in urban area this time, and to consider achievers in various fields for the position of the Sammelana president.

The meeting decided to hold sessions on Kannada literature on internet, history of Karwar, and Kannada achievers. Discussion was also held about organising a drama show.

P M Tandela, M Khalilulla, G D Palekar, Chetankumar Naik, Manjur Fahim, Maruti Badkar, Mahabaleshwar Sail and S D Naikar were among the names suggested for the post of this year’s Sammelana president.

Nagesh Tendulkar, Deepakkumar Shenvi, Deepak Shetty, Khairunnisa Shaikh, and others were present.
