Karwar: The Uttar-Kannada deputy commissioner SS Nakul has called for the celebration of the world's first missile man Tippu Sultan's Jayanthi in meaningful arrangements in Karwar on November 10, 2017.

Presiding over the meeting held at DC office, he said that Tipu Sultan Shaheed, the veteran soldier of the world was the first man to introduce the art of warfare using rocket technology. He was the first freedom fighter who struggled against the British forces using rocket technology. Keeping this in mind, Tipu Jayanti is celebrated by the state government on 10th November with the aim of commemorating Tipu Sultan's life story. He further said that the program will be held at district administration hall on 10th November in Karwar and asked the people to gather in huge numbers. Different types of activities from the school students will also be performed and the contributions of Tipu Sultan Shaheed will be introduced.
