Karwar: Zilla Panchayat CEO L Chandrashekhar Nayak, has instructed the officials concerned to initiate immediate measures to resolve all the cases filed in the women's counselling centres in the district.
Chairing the district-level progress review meeting, held at the Zilla Panchayat Hall, in Karwar, on Monday, he said that the staff at the women's counselling centres should work honestly to solve the cases filed at the centres.
A woman constable and an advocate should be deployed at the women's treatment unit at the district hospital, he said.
Women & Child Development Department Deputy Director Rajendra Bekal said, women counselling helpline centres are functioning in 11 taluks in the district.
A proposal has been submitted for starting 'Swadhaara Kendras' to facilitate the women who face atrocities. Helpline centres ('Gelati Sahaya Kendra') are being set up for women at all taluk hospitals in the district, he further added.
