Kasargod: In a ghastly road accident that reported on national highway between the truck and the container, one person was killed, while four others sustained severe injuries.

The deceased was identified as Beeju Yallamallur (45), driver of a fish-laden truck in the incident. The injured cleaner who was in the same truck was identified Babu (39) and was shifted to Manipal hospital for advanced treatment. The other injured who were on the container were identified as Santosh and Santwin of Uttar Pradesh.

During the incident, the fish-laden truck was on the way towards Kerala from Mangaluru, while the container was in the opposite direction. The impact of collision made the container topple and later fell in the ditch. The traffic jam was seen on the national highway for a while after the incident.

Fire brigade team and Kambli police personnel rushed to the spot and conducted the necessary investigations.
