Karwar: A student of the Government Polytechnic college of Kerala died while swimming in a pool in Dandeli of Uttar-Kannada district on 16th February 2018, Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Akshaya K.P (21), a resident of Calicut, Kerala.

According to sources, a group of 43 students from the Government Polytechnic West-Heal college had been to Dandeli on an educational tour. They went for swimming in the pool located in Subash Nagar. Akshay drowned while swimming. 

The town police personnel rushed to the spot immediately after receiving the information. The body was then taken out and sent for post-mortem.

A case has been registered at the Dandeli police station and investigations are on.
