Kerala tourists rescued by fishermen in Gokarna

Karwar: Two tourists from Kerala, who ventured into Arabian sea for swimming near Om beach at Gokarna in Uttara Kannada district on Friday, were rescued by fishermen while drowning.

According to sources, Mohammed Shameer of Kasaragod and Sajid of Malappuram in Kerala went to Om beach on Friday morning and started swimming in the sea. They decided to swim till Half Moon beach near Om beach.

When they were heading to Half Moon beach, they began drowning due to rough waves.

The fishermen from Tadadi port, who were heading into deep sea for fishing, noticed the duo and rescued them.

The youths were safely returned to Gokarna and went back to their native places.
