Yellapur: One-year-old daughter of a road construction worker died after she was allegedly hit by a flying stone near Sathodi fall in Yellapur taluk on Tuesday. According to a compliant registered at the Yellapur police station, Arpita, Daughter of Sannappa Harijan, was sleeping on the roadside and her parents were engaged in a road construction work near Sathodi falls. A stone bounced after hitting a truck, which was passing on the road, and fell on Arpita’s head. Arpita, who sustained severe injuries, was rushed to Yellapur government hospital. After primary treatment, the doctors there referred here to KIMS Hospital in Hubballi. But, she breathed here last on the way to KIMS. Sannappa and Manjula, the parents of the girl, hail form Nalogal village in Shirahatti taluk of Gadag district. When the Sathodi Road asphalting work stared recently, they came to Yellapur with their third child Arpita to work here.
