Bhatkal: In a deadly road accident that happened in between the bus and the car, one person was dead on the spot, while three others have been injured. The accident happened in the early morning of 14th June, Thursday, near Bailur NH-66 in Murdeshwar of Bhatkal taluk.
The deceased has been identified as Shekar Kamleshwar Naik (49), a resident of Aghnashini in Kumta taluk, while the injured victims include Shekar's wife Indira Shekar Naik, brother-in-laws Shridhar Ishwar Naik and Gopal Krishna Naik.
Sources informed that the accident happened when the speedy bus rammed into the car from the rear, causing severe damage to it and resulting in the spot death of one person and letting three others sustained minor injuries. The injured were immediately shifted to Bhatkal govt hospital and are getting the treatment done, while the body of deceased was shifted for post-mortem.
During the incident, the bus was on the way to Gajendragadh from Mangaluru, while the car was heading towards Kumta from Bhatkal.
Reckless driving of the bus is said as the reason behind the tragedy.
A case has been registered in the Murdeshwar police station and further investigations are on.
