Bhatkal: The passengers traveling from Bhatkal to Mangaluru airport need not have to struggle anymore. Yes, the Karnataka State Road Transportation Corporation (KSRTC) shall soon connect Volvo bus service on this stretch from March 2018. This will make the passengers from Bhatkal, Kundapur, Udupi, and Manipal more convenient to travel to Mangaluru airport.

The KSRTC had a recent meeting with MIA authorities in this regard. An Oral consent with airport authorities has also been taken. The preparations for the plying of buses on this stretch may soon begin once the order is passed.

As per the reports, the Volvo buses will be plying from Bajpe to Bhatkal via Manipal-Udupi-Kundapur. But it is yet to ascertain the fare prices and the number of busses that shall ply in this route. The company will be finalizing these things after having a meeting with airport authorities.

Currently, the people who are arriving at Udupi, Manipal, Kundapur from Mangaluru airport in Taxi are paying nearly three to four thousand rupees. But with the help of Volvo bus service, the passengers can reach their destination just at a fare price of fewer than 500 rupees.
