Kumta: Post denial of tickets, two BJP rebel candidates, Suraj Naik Soni and Yashodar Naik on Tuesday has gone ahead to file their nomination papers as Independent candidates for May 12 Karnataka assembly elections from Kumta-Honnavar constituency. 

Yashodar Naik, along with his handful of supporters in thousands held a rally on the national highway in the morning at around 10:30 AM and proceeded to file nomination papers for Kumta-Honnavar assembly seat, where BJP has fielded Dinakar Shetty as its candidate.

Another rebel from the same constituency, Suraj Naik Soni too filed his nomination papers after performing Pooja at Shantika Parameshwari temple in the town at around 12 PM. The rally marked smoothly from the temple to Assistant Commissioner office. He too was accompanied by his supporters. Addressing on the occasion, Suraj said that he has been working for Hindutva since many years and at the last moment, the denial of the ticket has become an injustice to him.
