Kumta: Govt Urdu school Santegulli observes Centenary celebration

Kumta: The centenary celebration of Govt Urdu higher primary school of Santegulli in Kumta taluk was observed on 15th February, Thursday, which was inaugurated by Coastal Development Authority chairperson and Kumta-Honnavar constituency MLA Sharada Shetty.

Addressing the gathering after inaugurating, MLA, in her speech said, the success of this school is only from the struggles and hard work from people of this region, who have maintained the school's dignity. She also said that there is a demand for government PU college in this region, which is officially being considered at a govt level. She also assured of making the needful as soon as possible.

President of Ideal Education Trust, Kumta, Mr. Abdul Khadir Shaikh was the chief guest of the event, while president of North Kanara Muslim United Forum Imtiyaz Umar Shaikh inaugurated the diamond year souvenir of the school. The program was presided over by Mahesh Naik, president of Santegulli gram panchayat. The successful graduates of the school were honored and felicitated on the occasion. 

The program began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran following the welcome anthem and state anthem was also sung.

On this occasion, district teacher's association president Narayan Gaonkar, RFO Virendranaat, Nazima Khan, Ibrahim Saheb, Vinayak Bhat, Cereal Almeda, Block minority cell president Francis Fernandez, Madina Masjid president Abdur Rahim Shaikh, centenary celebration committee president Muhammad Rafiq, SDMC president Muhammad Aslam among many others were present.
