Kumta: Free laptops were distributed to 31 SC/ST students in Government Pre University College Kumta, on Tuesday by the state government in order to help financially backward students, who are facing various problems to pursue their education without the help of the laptops.

Speaking on the occasion, Kumta MLA Sharada said, State government has taken up free distribution of laptops in order to help them do well in their academic pursuits. She called upon the students not to misuse the laptops. She advice that with this initiative, the idea is to ensure everyone gets a fair and equal opportunity to achieve something in education.

Zilla Panchayat Member Ratnakar Naik, Principal Geeta Walikar, College Development Committe member Viya George, Ganapati Shetty, Murthy I R, Shrikant Naik and others were present on the occasion.
