Kumta: A man committed suicide by hanging himself in a toilet in the backyard of his home in Santagal village in Kumta taluk on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Manjunath Nagu Gowda (35).

Registering the case, Kumta PSI E C Sampta said, the deceased was suffering from long- term illness.
