Kumta: In an incident, a girl was reportedly killed after she received high voltage electric shock at an Ice cream factory here at Chitrgi in the taluk. The deceased girl was identified as B B Nagappa Ambika, a resident of Dhareshwar in the taluk.

Sources said that the incident happened when she was opening the refrigerator door. Due to the impact of the electric shock, she collapsed on the spot. Negligence in the maintenance of the factory is said to be the reason for this incident.

A case has been registered in Kumta police station.
