Kundapur: Two PUC students went on drowning after they had been for swimming in a nearby Kotelingeshwar lake near here in Koteswar in the taluk on Monday.

The victims have been identified as Keerthan (19), a student of BA 1st year and Sachin (19), a B.Com student. One of the body has been recovered, while the search for other is being processed.

Reports from Kundapur informed that the incident happened when the duo returning from college planned going for swimming in the lake. They had been to college to get their exam hall ticket as the dates for the exams were approaching.

While swimming, they initially lost the balance and started drowning. Noticed this by one of the person sitting near the lake, immediately informed this to nearby residents. As the news spread, fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot. The body of Keerthan was however recovered within few minutes after the incident, whereas the search for another in carried.
