Legal awareness program in Haliyal from June 7

Haliyal: Judge Shilpa H A called upon advocates and heads of various departments to strive hard for the success of legal awareness programmes to be organised by Legal Awareness Chariot and Janata Court from June 7 to 10 at Haliyal.

She noted this while addressing the advocates and other officials during the preparatory meeting to organise three-day legal awareness programmes at Court premises in the town on Tuesday.

Fight against injustice

She said, the purpose of legal awareness cell is to provide information about the legal facilities and rights of socially backward classes, women and Dalits and ensure them of making use of all such facilities. By doing so, they will be able to fight against injustice, she added.

The legal awareness vehicle of the mobile court will move across Haliyal taluk during three-day programmes and spreads awareness among rural people.

Hence, all the concerned officials should actively participate in this programme, she asked.

Speaking on the occasion, Judge Basavraj Sanadi said that the legal awareness vehicle will move across the taluk from June 7 to 10, where three awareness programmes will be conducted in three different places every day.

Pending cases

Along with this, Lok Adalat programme will also be held. The people can solve their long pending cases through Lok Adalat, he added.

The legal awareness programme will be inaugurated on June 7 at Court ground in Haliyal. Later, programmes will be conducted at Tahsildar office and Akkamahadevi Higher Primary School.

On June 8, awareness programme will be held at Janaga village, followed by Kavalwad gram panchayat and Belavatagi.

On June 9, Lok Adalat will be held at Court in the town and taluk panchayat auditorium. On June 10, a programme will be held at town municipal council auditorium and then valedictory will be organised at tahsildar office.

Assistant government Engineer Ajeet Janagowda, bar association president A M Patil, tahsildar M N Mathad, forest department official Prasanna Kumar and other department officials were present on the occasion.
