Sirsi: A two-year-old male leopard was found dead under mysterious circumstance in the forests of Huttagar in Sirsi taluk on Saturday.

The big cat showed no signs of injuries or bullet wound on its body. The forest department also ruled out poisoning of the animal. The officials suspect that the leopard might have died after falling from a tree.

Confirmation of the real cause of death will be known only after arrival of postmortem report, informed RFO Muniraju and added that a case has been registered.
