Karwar: District election officer (DEO) and Deputy Commissioner S S Nakul on Friday suspended the license of Ashirwad Wines of Kumta for illegally transporting liquor to Honnavar recently.

About 60 litres of liquor was being transported illegally to Honnavar in a mini truck.

Acting on a tip-off, the Honnavar excise inspector conducted checked the truck and seized the liquor, besides detaining the driver.
