Ankola: In a raid conducted by the Excise department officials at a house in Ankola, the police seized liquor which was illegally stored into the basement and arrested the mafia involved in illegal sale of alcohol on 3rd October, Tuesday.
According to the sources, a raid was performed in the house of Gram Panchayat member Sandeep Mohan Gownkar in Shetgiri in the taluk and around 19 bags filled with illegal alcohol, worth of which is estimated to be Rs. 1,00,872 were seized.
The raid was conducted by the excise department officials after receiving reliable intel that illegal liquor was being stored at the basement of the house.
A case stands registered at Ankola police station.
