Bhatkal: Railway police on Sunday night seized liquor which was being transported illegally through Matsagandha Express train, in Bhatkal

During inspection of women’s compartment in the train, a team led by railway officer Yogendra Singh seized 340 liquor bottles worth Rs 50,000.

Likewise, in Belagavi, the police seized 80 litres of liquor on the bank of Markhandeya River near Ganginal village in the taluk on Monday.

They booked cases against four person Siddarayi Panaguddi, Irappa Panaguddi, Parasappa Panaguddi and Bhimappa Naik who escaped following the raids.
