Mangaluru: The excise department officials conducted a raid at a house here on Bajal road and seized liquor worth lakhs on 20th February, Tuesday.
The raid was conducted on the residence of Jose Sebastian where the officials confiscated 7,000 litres spirit worth Rs 11 lakh stored in 200 cans, a truck, a bike, and crates used to store fish.
The raid operation was performed based on credible information received that the man was transporting the liquor to Kerala state. A raid team was formed and the raid was conducted on orders from excise department commissioner Shailaja A Kote.
The raid was led by Mangaluru sub-division one and sub-division two deputy superintendents Amarnath Bhandary and Shivaprasad.
