Ankola: In a road accident that happened on NH63 near Sunksala in Ankola on Saturday, a driver transporting tar in lorry reportedly died on the spot after he lost control over his vehicle at a sharp curve.

The victim has been identified as Vijya Kumar Suryanarayanappa (24), a resident of Duggasundra village in Mulabagilu taluk of Kolar district. 

Santoshkumar Narayanaswamy (19), a resident of the same village has sustained injuries and is getting treatment at taluk hospital.

According to the sources, the incident took place when the driver lost control over the vehicle, which was transporting tar from Ankola to Yellapur while trying to prevent a deep curve on the highway. The lorry crashed into a tree and toppled resulting in driver's death. The impact was such that the tar which the vehicle was carrying spilled all over the road. 

A case has been registered at Ankola police station and ASI Mangesh Talageri visited the spot.
